Canadian Association of Radiologists – Annual Scientific Meeting

First Avenue Events successfully organized the Canadian Association of Radiologists’ 71st and 72nd Annual Scientific Meetings held May, 2008 in Ottawa, and April, 2009 in Montreal. Both raised a record profit and attracted a record number of exhibitors and delegates. We are also organizing the 73rd Annual Scientific Meeting in Montreal in 2010.

Event and Program Management included:

• Developing a detailed budget and critical path.
• Developing a sponsorship package, researching and securing sponsors and exhibitors.
• Coordinating logistics relating to tradeshow participants, including exhibit area networking events to increase traffic flow (Scotch Tasting in 2008 and a Quebec Cheese and Wine Tasting in 2009).
• Managing the Abstracts and Awards program including Call for Abstracts, judges, poster displays and session and Resident Award presentations.
• Managing more than 50 speakers and moderators.
• Promoting the event through numerous organizations with the goal of increasing attendance.
• Organizing a fun-filled evening at the Canadian War Museum for the Annual Reception and Awards Dinner which included limo transportation, private guided-tour, live jazz music and more.
• Coordinating an industry partners' dinner, Residents and Fellows cocktail and CAR board dinners.
• Coordinating all logistics pertaining to the venue including layout, audio-visual, signage, food and beverage, accommodations and more.
• Preparing a post mortem report detailing successes and suggestions on how the conference can be enhanced for further growth.
